Chris Vincent
Pirates, cowboys and vagabond 90's hippies are the hypnotic daydreams of Chris Vincent's songs. His musical world is a tropical melting pot; steel drums and Tony Llama boots collide with the energy of a low pressure system and beneath this cascade Bob Marley, Jim Croce, and Ernest Hemingway all meet on a breezy porch to philosophize and drink Goombay Smashes.

Whether it's wandering groupies whose lives hang in the balance as they do in Confessions of a Deadhead or the aboriginal desires of getting naked and going Walkabout, Chris Vincent picks his topics as casually as one might choose a summer wardrobe. He is acoustic guitar and long summer day, blond hair occasionally braided (and today perhaps a mustache), an affable changing chameleon who dissolves into the background of his songs and holds a mirror on us all to reveal both a little truth and a little fiction.

Born in Northampton, MA Chris moved to Cape Cod at the age of nine. After graduating college at WPI, where he learned to play the guitar, he began performing music for a living. His exhilarating playing has him currently opening shows for national artists Tom Rush, Livingston Taylor, Warren Zevon, Richie Havens, and Jonathan Edwards.

Living at times in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and more recently along the shores of the Gulf of Mexico in Florida, Chris engages in a troubadoric and somewhat salty lifestyle. His two recordings, the self-titled Chris Vincent and Florida Tags and a Brown Paper Bag, both with The Stoned Crabber Band, reveal a nautical undercurrent to his beach bum attitudes that have gained him a small loyal following.

Chris has settled for the moment on Cape Cod where he performs solo in area bars with occasional weekly trips to sing on "the other side of the bridge," frequently in Worcester, MA. He is also completing a full-length CD due out in the Fall. It contains nine original songs and will be on sale at his shows and in local music stores and other select outlets. Visit Chris's web site often for release information and updated performance schedules.
